Pop Up Ecologies: Community Hammock
Collaboration with performers Helena Webb and Tuuli Hynynen
The project for the London Design Festival, in Whitfield Gardens in central London, discusses the concept of public space bringing this in connection with environmental implications of trees in the city. Based on spatial connections seen from a three-dimensional scanning of the site, textile surfaces connect the trees and interpret their role in the urban space. In this work, trees are explored in their relationship with people and open urban spaces, creating a temporary ecology of public space, and triggering speculative environmental reflections.
